Steve Quattlebaum and Tom Wyatt Participate in ABOTA Trial College Advanced Skills Program

Steven W. Quattlebaum and Thomas H. Wyatt recently took part in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) National Trial College – Advanced Skills Program, held August 5-9, 2025, at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. This highly selective program was tailored for attorneys with several trials under their belts, aiming to elevate their courtroom performance even further.

Tom was one of the program participants, receiving intensive training from a nationally recognized faculty comprised of some of the most accomplished trial lawyers in the country, including Steve, who served as a member of the faculty.

This advanced program went beyond the basics and focused on refining high-level techniques across every phase of a civil jury trial. Participants honed skills in building rapport during voir dire, crafting compelling opening statements, handling challenging witnesses, mastering cross-examination control, and delivering persuasive closing arguments that strike the perfect balance between emotion, fact, and legal authority.

Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 7,300 lawyers – equally balanced between plaintiff and defense – and judges spread among 95 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
